It was established in Amman in 2007 by a group of lay faithful committed to the love of God and the Church. It acts as one of the auxiliary and supportive arms of the local church, regarding social, humanitarian, and pastoral work. It is a collaboration between the laity and the clergy. It is affiliated with the Heads of the Catholic Church Council in the Holy Land, and it works under the umbrella and supervision of the Latin Patriarchal Vicar of Jordan.
The office provides a well-prepared program, designed to answer each person’s carefully studied humanitarian and social needs. Each program is managed by a specialized committee, which is responsible for supervising and implementing the programs. The office works within an administrative, financial, and governance institutional system, headed by its Board of Directors and its branch committees. The office works with complete transparency and integrity while maintaining a high standard.
The office works to secure the proper resources to host any initiative targeted toward helping the poor and needy from all Christian denominations in Jordan. It seeks to support and encourage the call for Christian unity per the doctrine of “One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church”.

The office is currently managing and implementing all the following social and humanitarian programs:
- Student Program
Based on our belief in the importance of education, and spiritual formation for all students, as well as in recognition of the crucial role students play in society. The office provides financial support to students in need, during his/her studies, at both the compulsory and secondary level. He/she gets enrolled in one of the Christian schools of Jordan, and has spiritual and academic follow-ups.
- “Our Family” program
Based on the belief that a healthy family leads to a healthy society. This program aims to support families in our parishes to help them face the different challenges of our modern day and age. Hence, maintaining a sound Christian parenthood, by providing them with developmental, preventive, and therapeutic services. So that they would weave into the society the Christian faith and values and carry its ecclesiastical and humanitarian mission to future generations.
- Program to support and assist inmates in correctional and rehabilitation centers
The program provides spiritual, emotional, and material support to inmates in correctional Rehabilitation centers in Jordan, through periodic visits conducted by volunteers from the Clergy and laity. Through periodic visitations, the inmate’s faith gets built up by prayer and reading the Word of God. The aim is to provide the individuals with the proper tools and support to help them have reconciliation with themselves, God, and others, as well as support them to accept their reality with hope and faith. The program provides spiritual and psychological counseling, and social and legalistic help, to support those individuals in overcoming this tough period of their lives and maintaining their active role in society.
- The Comfort of Hearts program
The program aims to support any initiative that targets children of distressed households, people with special needs, and the elderly. This program is currently providing support for the Children’s House called “Our Lady of the Mountain” in Anjara, Jordan. The house hosts children from unfortunate families. The support is provided through periodic visits held by a group of women under the name “Friends of Our Lady of the Mountain Anjara”. They help assess the housing needs and host different charitable activities to support the children’s health, education as well as material needs. They also provide the children with Christian formation and foster a family atmosphere to grow brotherly love among them and prepare them to be positive members of society.
- The Blessed program
The program supports poor families, who live in very difficult residential conditions. The program aims to help rehabilitate, maintain, and furnish their homes, to ensure the family lives with dignity and in a safe and healthy environment.
