Since the beginning of the Church’s mission, especially in the Holy Land, schools have been purposely established next to church buildings and monasteries, to provide education to the largest number of Christian students, but also to many others belonging to different religions, especially Muslims. Moreover, we provide basic education for women and poor families to ensure them a hopeful future.
The Latin Patriarchates runs 44 schools, distributed throughout the diocese, in addition to kindergartens and nurseries. The total number of students at the Latin Patriarchate schools reaches 20 thousand students, from both genders and different economic, social, and religious backgrounds. Also, our schools provide job opportunities for qualified teachers, to offer them a stable income and enable them to provide and support their families.
The higher administration of the Patriarchate schools works to always monitor and follow up on the schools’ affairs to ensure a safe and sound educational environment, by considering the instructions for Public Safety and the Rights of Children, and through providing the necessary services, facilities, and tools for the students to learn.
School fees are one of the biggest challenges faced by the Latin Patriarchate schools, as our schools are non-profitable. The church assists in reducing the financial burdens of the parents yet continually providing quality education and a well-functioning facility. Therefore, your contribution and support are much appreciated and needed, whether by adopting a student or through your generous giving to the Patriarchate schools. Your financial support ensures the continuation of our work in the field of education and is a blessing to all the children and families of the Diocese of Jerusalem.
