Conference on “the vision of the Afterlife”

An international interreligious conference will be held in July on the vision of the Afterlife. The Catholic Church will be represented by bishop William Shomali, vicar general of the Latin Patriarchate.
The lecturers (Christians, Moslems, Jews, Buddhists and Hindus) will try to answer the following questions:
- What do Muslims believe about forgiveness in the Afterlife?
- How do Christian and Hindu views about the Afterlife differ?
- How do Jews use this life to prepare for the Afterlife?
- How many chances do we get at this life?
- Is the Afterlife final?
- Do Buddhists believe there will be redemption?
These questions and many others will be discussed at the Elijah Interfaith Summer School.
